Miss Blyth has one of the loveliest voices. I am a fan of her acting as well as her vocal ability. I enjoyed her in her musical films. The Student Prince, Rose Marie, The Great Caruso and the enchanting Kismet. I also seem to remember her singing at the Academy Awards, Secret Love. Am I correct in this? I'm 69; you've been my favorite actress since I was ten years old; recall an article about you in the Catholic Digest where you said when you were small your mother would iron.....and then call all of you to come and admire the beauty of the ironed clothes! Do you remember that article? My own mother let me name my new baby sister after you. I'm a nurse (married to a doctor as you were), saw all your films many times; thought of you today when I saw Mildred Pierce being re-made...how dare they! My favorite was Student Prince. YOU are the essence of what a great actress really meant--but also a "movie star." My own sons: philosophy at U of W, literature at U of M, daughter a nurse, and youngest son an actor! A movie "short" I wrote he starred in; it won in 8 film festivals across the U.S. so I am proud! Cheers for Hollywood and all the good parts of that magical world--saw you in person once in a play in Sacramento--a great beauty and great woman. God bless you forever! My sister's birthday is the same as yours she is 81. I have watched the Helen Morgan story about 15 times in the last few weeks. Great work and very enjoyable. Wish I could meet you.
